Relief Worker

We are currently recruiting to our pool of relief workers who cover staff absence and training at our hostel for families in Cardiff.

Cadarn Housing Group is the parent of the Group and provides oversight and support services role. Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association, that offers nearly 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales, working in several local authority areas. Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 3,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community regeneration initiatives.

About the role
Our hostel is staffed 24/7 and provides support and accommodation for families to prepare them for securing and maintaining a tenancy. The hostel can be a fast paced environment, where residents are supported with a wide range of needs including domestic abuse, substance mis-use, mental ill health and child protection issues.

As a Relief Worker you will provide a high quality services as the first point of contact. The role involves working with tenants who may be difficult to engage with and as such you should have the skills to build trusting and respectful relationships. The role is key to maintaining safe and secure accommodation for tenants.

About you
You will have a good standard of education, demonstrable IT & communication skills, with the physical ability to carry out the duties of the role and to work with minimal supervision.

As a Relief Worker, you will need to have previous experience of maintaining a cleaning routine, health & Safety and working with vulnerable groups.
