Assistant Director of Strategic Planning and Governance

Cadwyn is a community housing association based in Cardiff. We are a diverse business with experience in social housing management and development, social lettings, market lets and sales, commercial regeneration and an amazing recycling project and supporting tenants to gain valuable skills and employment.

We have a fantastic new opportunity for the right person to lead on strategic planning coordination for Cadwyn. This will involve providing strategic and operational leadership analysis and insight for the Chief Executive and Leadership Team.

Reporting directly to Cadwyn’s CEO, the Assistant Director of Strategic Planning and Governance will offer strategic advice to the Executive Team so they are able to work more effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and will be a key player in embedding the culture and behaviours that are needed across the service areas.

This role will include leading on governance and being company secretary, providing strategic and operational guidance to staff and Board to enhance the decision making process of Cadwyn and to ensure the organisation complies with internal and external reporting, policy and procedural and regulatory requirements.

At Cadwyn our staff work in an agile way, working mostly at home with the ability to hot desk at one of our three sites across Cardiff or to work from any other suitable/convenient location

What we need:

. Experience of strategic planning and coordination within an organisation, developing and implementing organisational best practice
. Experience of supporting and advising CEO’s, Boards and their committees, in relation to corporate governance (preferably gained in a corporate environment)
. Experience of working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver improved services, governance and performance
. Knowledge of charity law and governance
. Knowledge of good practice in corporate governance, including and understanding of the relationship between executive and non-executive
. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
